About Me

I enjoy helping people to improve their health, both Mental and Physical, and discover their potential. Sometimes life presents obstacles or situations which can appear overwhelming and can result in anxiety and depression. Relationship problems, work difficulties, poor health and stress can negatively impact mental health and wellbeing. Often there may be no specific reason for feeling low or unhappy.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Psychotherapy  can help you to manage the cycles of negative thinking, behaviour and emotions. I provide a space where you can find a way through difficulties and move forward with a better understanding. If you are experiencing health problems or you have eating behaviour which causes you distress, and would like to improve your health, I can support you with nutrition advice and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

How can Nutrition Psychotherapy Help ?

Often, we are so busy or stressed, we don’t have time to think about our health and wellbeing. It is only when a health issue arises that we have to take time out to assess our lifestyle. The body is good at sending signals when it is imbalanced and this can often be addressed before health is affected. Nutrition can have a powerful influence on our health. Food provides us with energy and also the building blocks for growth and repair. Good quality food promotes healthy function of the body systems, hormones, immune system and brain function.

I can help you to improve your health and wellbeing. I will support you in making changes which will help to improve your energy levels, optimise nutrition, promote better sleep and feel good. Health is about the complete person; physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual. Each aspect affects or influences the others. I can support you to improve your health by working with you to create a personalised nutrition plan to suit your lifestyle using a functional medicine approach. I work alongside your medical practitioner and refer you to them if I feel it is necessary or if your symptoms require medical investigation and treatment.

Emotional eating and distressed eating can contribute to cycles of dieting, weight issues and negative self image. I can work with you to address the anxiety, unhelpful eating patterns and negative thinking about food and body image. Using positive psychology techniques will help you to stop worrying about food and diets. Finding a new approach will help you to thrive, no longer a slave to rules about eating.
